Concepts for operations management
This book takes a new approach to operations management. It develops concepts for operations management and provides a simple descriptive treatment of the subject in breadth. Its emphasis is on operations in the true sense of the word rather than production or manufacture; it develops fundamental concepts rather than applying techniques and has a policy orientation. The book is intended to provide a framework, through which to promote a satisfactory treatment and understanding of the fundamental structure, nature, and characteristics of operating systems, and the nature, problems, and approaches necessary for the management of such systems despite differences of function.
